  Rev. Nathan Janssen is the most amazing and delightful person I think I have ever met. He isn't just living a life with God in it, he is bringing God to every individual he meets.
  My daughter is in the military and needs to get married in a very brief period of time. We are on an extremely limited budget and were losing hope that she could get married in a church setting. Our very last resort - having her get married in a courthouse - was becoming a reality with each passing day. Somehow (don't ask me why I called this church at the last minute - because it was definitely a God thing) I found the Prince of Peace church number and spoke directly to Pastor Janssen. It was late in the day, but he was so accommodating and gracious I almost wanted to cry on the phone. He told us we could work something out and to come and take a look at the church and facilities. We drove to Martinsville that very night and were amazed how perfect the church was for our needs. In a day and age when so many people aren't getting married, let alone in a church setting, and the expensive fees and cost of a wedding can be disparaging - our burdens were lifted the moment we walked into the sanctuary. With Pastor Janssen's help we are going to have a beautiful wedding AND an affordable reception in this sweet church, nestled in the rolling hills of the countryside.
  If you are searching for God and a welcoming church family, look no further - God can be easily found here and His arms are stretched wide embracing His people through the work of this church and an amazing pastor. Thank you Pastor Janssen, may you always be blessed in all your endeavors.

  We've been attending for about a month now, and this is one of the first churches we've attended where so many people have made it a point to come introduce themselves, ask about us and make us feel so welcome. Pastor Janssen is DEEPLY rooted in very sound doctrine and is both personable and accessible. Whether your background is Lutheran or not, if you're looking for a solid small town church with deep historical theological roots, Prince of Peace would be worth your time to visit.
